The Center for Empowered Living, LLC opened in 2012 with the vision to create a center devoted to the practice of psychotherapy incorporating evidence-based treatments (EBTs).

Natalie O'Neil, owner and psychotherapist, strives to uphold these original values through maintaining a thorough knowledge of current research, treatment modalities and using these principles to guide each therapy session.

Empower Your Life

About

About Me

(she/her/hers)

My goal is to provide support, empathic listening, and insight to live healthier, happier

and more empowered lives.

Trained in psychotherapies ranging from psychodynamic to cognitive-behavioral, I rely heavily on the following evidence-based treatment styles, which I will  integrate to fit your unique

needs.

Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT),

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)

I approach all therapy from a trauma informed model and am currently enrolled in the Level II Trauma Certificate Program with  The Ferentz Institute.

My primary clinical focus is eating disorders (anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder, OSFED, ARFID and body image disturbance); trauma disorders (acute and complex post-traumatic stress disorder and dissociative disorders); mood and anxiety disorders.

As an LCPC in Maryland I am able to provide out of network insurance reimbursement as well as submitting to the insurance companies with whom I am paneled (BCBS, Cigna and Johns Hopkins).

I have trained and studied in the mental health field for over ten years among an array of settings. These include an inpatient hospitalization program, the Trauma Disorders Program at Sheppard Pratt Health System; an inpatient hospitalization program for psychiatric and chemical dependency; Cottage Hospital Santa Barbara, a residential treatment center for adults with severe mental illness; Crescend Health (formerly Phoenix of Santa Barbara), an inpatient, partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient program for eating disorders; The Center for Eating Disorders at Sheppard Pratt; a treatment foster care after school program, The Adolescent and Family Growth Center in Springfield, VA; and a partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient program for eating disorders, The Renfrew Center of Baltimore.

Throughout my diverse training and roles in these settings I found that I believe that most people are more similar than they are different. I seek to understand how I can help those struggling to navigate their lives. My goal is to provide support, empathic listening and insight to manage symptoms and live healthier, happier and more empowered lives.

In my personal time I enjoy partaking in the antics of my cat and two dogs. I equally enjoy the company of my human family and friends, going to concerts, drawing, painting, singing and dancing.

I am originally from Baltimore, Maryland and received my BA in Psychology from Emory University in Atlanta, GA. I decided that while attending graduate school and working full-time, I needed to be close to a beach in California. I was accepted into and completed my Master’s in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Healthy Aging at Antioch University Santa Barbara. I am happy to have come full circle and be living and working in Baltimore.
